Scott's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Physics, a Masters degree in Computer Science and a Medical degree, all from the University of Virginia. He completed his Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the University of Washington, where he now serves as a Professor of Biostatistics. His research interests include clinical trials, sequential testing, survival analysis, categorical data, nonparametric Bayesian statistics, classification and regression trees, statistical consulting, and computer intensive methods.

Some recent working papers are available on this site, as well as some material illuminating an approach to statistical analysis.
